The Curriculum Team develops rich riveting new projects and courses that spark curiosity, capture attention and ultimately turn Galileo campers into fearless innovators. What’s the job, really?

As an integral member of the team, you’ll work in a highly collaborative environment to design, create, test and redesign innovation-centric curriculum that will reach thousands of campers and staff across the country. The Curriculum Developer is a prolific visionary, a clear and concise writer who seeks feedback to continually improve their work, and a passionate educator who can make magic from craft sticks and googly eyes.
 

  • You’ll develop unique, highly-engaging design and engineering curriculum for Camp Galileo (PreK-6th graders) ensuring the seamless integration of the Galileo Innovation Approach.

 

  • You’ll thrive in an iterative environment, managing multiple projects to fruition. From initial brainstorming to drafting and refining lessons, from testing and troubleshooting to materials research, you’ll stay focused on and committed to the ultimate goal of arming our summer instructor staff with the tools to bring art and maker spaces to life for our campers. 

 

  • You’ll consistently empathize with your end users—Galileo summer staff and campers. You’ll create content for instructor professional development and training, and provide insight and support to instructional staff during the summer, helping to ensure they feel heard, prepared, and inspired to lead. 

 

  • You’ll be a vital and collaborative member of the Galileo curriculum team, supporting other curriculum activities and initiatives as needed, and collaborating with the Warehouse & Purchasing team to identify materials best suited for our needs and budget.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred 
  • Deep subject matter expertise in art & design and/or science & engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching K-8 children, with a focus on design-thinking and/or project-based learning (or similar Galileo summer staff experience)
  • Proven track record of creating original curriculum and/or projects 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and writing on a schedule with regular deadlines
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive suite
  • Basic photography and video production skills
  • Summer schedule includes visits to various camp locations. Must be able to provide your own transportation to/from Galileo Bay Area sites

Schedule & Time Commitment

  • Regular office hours averaging 45 hours per week
  • Occasional weekend work (approximately three times per year)
