Recruiting Analyst

Galileo is looking for a skilled Recruiting Analyst to provide actionable insights based on data to support our talent acquisition strategies from sourcing to offers to onboarding. In this role, you’ll be the team expert in the data and reporting capabilities of our talent acquisition systems and vendors. You’ll build and maintain the recruiting team reporting infrastructure, including metrics dashboards and tools for a range of stakeholders.

We value divergent thinkers who bring various experiences and viewpoints to the table at Galileo. We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups and people of diverse backgrounds to apply.

Who are you?

  • You’re inspired by Galileo’s mission and purpose. Innovation education, project-based learning, and working in a professional, welcoming, deeply camp-inspired culture should sound like things you’re ready to explore or sign up for.

  • You’re a performance-driven, data-hungry scientist. Problem solving makes you downright giddy. You look at the details of life through a lens of optimization and data, and feel excited to design and implement experiments to test your hypotheses.

  • You’re resourceful and intrinsically motivated. When you encounter a new system, tool, or resource, you approach learning it with curiosity and determination to understand it inside and out. And then you seek out ways to improve it. You love to be an expert and a teacher.

  • You enjoy using data to tell a clear story. You can take in qualitative and quantitative data, slice and dice it and through careful analysis find the meaning and narrative within it to drive overall performance. You love fine-tuning operational logistics, ensuring program efficiency, and look at the details of life through a lens of optimization, measurement and efficiency.

  • You’re a visionary collaborator. You can confidently contribute to a creative vision and have the team-oriented mindset to effectively work with others to realize it.

And we think kids with these skills are more likely to change our world and be the masters of their own.

Here, values aren’t just lip service — we aim to be visionary, courageous, collaborative, determined and reflective each day, and back that effort up with structure to ensure our success. People who joyfully work hard together, feel accountable for their work, are mission driven, and play well with others tend to thrive in our culture. Joining Galileo means joining an organization that is a model of innovative learning, with a company-wide commitment to Inclusion and Diversity, broadening our impact and a stellar staff experience.

Position Description

What’s the team like?

The People Operations team is not your average Human Resources department. You’ll be on a team that approaches everything — from the way we attract and select candidates to the quality of service and the benefits offered to our employees — in a way that reflects the pride we take in hiring and retaining exceptional staff teams.

What’s the job, really?

We’re looking for a Recruiting Analyst with a passion for providing data-driven insights in support of a team. Essential duties include:

  • You’ll work with recruiting and hiring team leaders to determine appropriate metrics and goals for our major hiring categories: corporate, summer program directors, and summer camp staff.

  • You’ll create and maintain systems and tools to measure and report out progress to goals. You’ll be a power-user within our applicant tracking system, iCIMS, with a strong command of how data flows through the system and into/from integrated tools and solutions.

  • You’ll use data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in recruiting and hiring processes and report them out. In partnership with recruiting and hiring team leaders you’ll design and implement tests to problem solve them, helping to ensure process optimization.

  • You’ll support headcount estimation for summer camp staff hiring, and partner cross-departmentally with the field operations team to ensure alignment with the recruiting team. Your insights will inform summer camp staff headcount fulfillment expectations.

  • You’ll manage the recruiting analytics reporting and dashboard roadmap with focus on data integrity, automation, and supporting stakeholder learning and ability to self-serve.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, recruiting operations, or data analysis

  • Excel/Google Sheets expertise, including basic and more complex functions

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems; iCIMS experience preferred

  • Google Data Studio or similar data analysis and visualization tools experience preferred

  • Familiarity with measuring diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging recruitment strategies a plus

  • Skill at and experience with soliciting and implementing feedback to improve performance

  • Readiness to stick around: we find that our team and team members benefit from a 3 year minimum commitment.

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and other underrepresented people tend to only apply when they match every criteria. If you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every check box, we encourage you to still apply.
