Position Description

What’s the team like?

The People Operations team is not your average Human Resources department. You’ll be on a team that approaches everything — from the way we attract and select candidates to the quality of service and the benefits offered to our employees — in a way that reflects the pride we take in hiring and retaining exceptional staff teams.

What’s the job?

We’re looking for an HR Coordinator who is an operational superstar and will help ensure that our employees are paid accurately and on time, for over 2,500 summer and year-round staff. This detail-oriented leader thrives on executing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • You’ll be a primary support for payroll. You’ll work with the People Services team to support executing weekly tasks to process payroll for 65+ HQ staff and ~2,000-3,000 summer staff. You’ll build on existing team experience to identify and implement year-over-year improvements to our processes and resources.

  • You’ll skillfully deliver employee program-related communication through our ticketing system, Salesforce (which can be up to 1,000 tickets per month during the summer), maintaining a high level of approachability, warmth, accountability, demonstration of service, and team leadership.

  • You’ll meticulously maintain current employee records in our payroll software (ADP), applicant tracking and onboarding platform (iCIMS), and internal tracking docs (Google suite), taking a variety of actions at all employee transition points including hire, rehire, and role changes.

  • You’ll be an effective and collaborative member of the People Services team, supporting other sub-functional activities and initiatives as needed, including worker’s comp, camp staff onboarding and the employee benefits experience.

What are we looking for?

  • College graduate, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Human Resources, benefits, onboarding or payroll administration, preferred, but not required
  • Experience in project management, managing work plans and interfacing with multiple teams
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel and Google docs, and ability to quickly pick up new software and technology. Experience with ADP and iCIMS preferred but not required
  • Warm, welcoming, and professional attitude and disposition, with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and other underrepresented people tend to only apply when they match every criteria. If you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every check box, we encourage you to still apply.

  • September through May: 40 hours/week

  • June through August: 45-55 hours/week, including occasional weekend and evening work
