Galileo is looking for a detail-oriented coordinator to join our evolving Professional Development and Training team, and to support the development and implementation of scalable training programs.

We value divergent thinkers who bring various experiences and viewpoints to the table at Galileo. We strongly encourage members of underrepresented groups and people of diverse backgrounds to apply.

Who are you?

  • You’re passionate about Galileo’s mission to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. You see the value that Galileo is creating, and you want to add to that value.
  • You have a keen eye for details. You can be a stickler for grammar and inconsistent formatting, and you take pride in your ability to create awesome spreadsheets.
  • You’re determined to get the job done right—always. There’s a big difference between delivering and delivering excellence. You know the difference and see it as your place to bring it.
  • You love learning new concepts and systems. If you lack experience with something, you recognize it as an opportunity for continued growth rather than an obstacle to overcome.
  • You’re a critical thinker. You question processes and methods, continually looking for the best way to reach a goal.

Who are we?

We think the world needs innovators. We also think kids who learn to explore and fail without fear—the essence of innovation—are happier, more creative and more confident when faced with life’s challenges. And we think kids with these skills are more likely to change our world and be the masters of their own.

It takes a village to bring best-in-class, ever-evolving camp programs to over 30,000 campers each summer. At HQ, we believe that we are Galileo; through the work of each contributor and team, we bring our values to life, and constantly make our company and culture better. Because here, values aren’t just lip service — we aim to be more visionary, courageous, collaborative, determined and reflective each day, and back that effort up with structure to ensure our success. People who work hard, seek feedback to improve their work and themselves, feel deeply accountable for excellent work product, and play very, very well with others tend to thrive in our culture. Complainers don’t.

We like each other, we joyfully work hard together, and united by a shared dedication to our mission to create a world of fearless innovators, we encourage innovation in everything we do. We’re also a certified B Corp, and uphold a company-wide commitment to camper inclusion and broadening our impact. Learn more about our purpose from our CEO & Founder, Glen Tripp.

What’s the team like?

The Professional Development and Training team seamlessly blends highly differentiated training programs with the fun and magic that Galileo is known for. They understand people, their needs, and how to set them up for success. This tight-knit team of two is adding on their third team member to create even better training materials for our 2,000+ summer staffers. And the best part? The blooper reels. Definitely the blooper reels.

What’s the job, really?

We’re looking for a Training Coordinator who not only enjoys putting things in order, but also relishes managing details in support of the success of a team.

  • You’ll support productions in-house and in the field. You’ll coordinate camp visits, prepare production equipment, work with talent to schedule studio days, and support any needs that may arise during production.

  • You’ll provide post-production support for training course development. This may include things like performing assistant editor tasks in Adobe Premiere, and organizing and managing media assets.

  • You’ll help to administer and deploy a blended learning (online + in-person) model of training across the entire Galileo community. You’ll work in a Learning Management System (LMS) to create custom training pathways, monitor learner activity, and report on learner completion for payroll and compliance needs.

  • You’ll assist in gathering data and performing analysis on training efficacy. You’ll look at LMS site data, survey results, and performance data, with an analytical eye towards improving our training programs.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of experience in coordinator-type role
  • Experience with supporting a team in an administrative capacity
  • Ability to think critically about processes and how to improve them
  • Knowledge of project management tools and practices
  • Comfort with Microsoft excel
  • Familiarity with video editing tools & concepts
  • Skill at and experience with soliciting and implementing feedback to improve performance

Benefits & Compensation

  • Part-time, year-round position
  • $20/hour
  • <30 hours/week (non-benefited)
  • Paid sick leave is accrued at a rate of one hour per every thirty hours worked. Accrual begins on the first day of employment. Paid sick leave may be used beginning on the 90th day of employment.
